Gonna spin this today, Coffins is the last KD album I jammed and it's so so good.

I gave PHoBoS a 2.5 after my first spin; now it's a strong 4.5. You can't understand a Kayo Dot album after just one day. This could still land anywhere between 3 and 4.5.
Even reviewing it seems kinda premature, but I guess we need a place to talk about it.

And why is anyone even talking about Driver repeating himself? This sounds nothing like PHoBoS. Totally different atmosphere and vocals.

I’ll never understand instantaneous ratings unless it’s that once in a blue moon ‘insta-classic’
This album is clearly arsey though.

This sounds great so far. Haven't loved an album by this band since Choirs so I'm glad for a return to a more "rock" sound. Might have liked Hubardo if I could get past the cookie monster vocals on track 1.

Yeah talking down a 90 minute masterwork for it's opening track is a goofy look

the black stone is perfect though, that ending is one of their most gripping parts

I think the first song on this album is actually pretty dope

Love Black Stone. Hubardo is best from this band.

Dowsing is underrated. Choirs and that are my two favorites, followed by the three before this.
