I recommended Lateralus to a group of people last night at a party and they were amazed by my accurate description of what artistic values are needed for a rock/metal band to transcend the conventions of what constitutes the mundane in music. But my moment of glory ended when some fat guy with ponytail bombed the group and started a monologue about how Karnivool Sound Awake is the single greatest prog rock album in history and that Tool is overrated and that they like to sing about ass fisting. I died inside from the huge amount of cringe that was smacked to my face. Everybody was obviously bothered by the dude and his fascist ideas, so we all said goodbye to each other and now I'm pissed because the night was ruined and I didn't even got the change to get properly drunk.

I don’t know why people were discussing ‘No Man’s Sky‘ in here, but I’ll just add that although I haven’t even played the damn thing, the soundtrack is superior to this album.
