5 only implies a classic if you take the descriptive words Sputnik attaches to the 5 rating seriously. I don't. (Whether an album counts as a classic seems, to me, to depend on its reception, not on its quality, and I think ratings should only reflect upon an album's quality).

DDD I think you are right that a person rating Aenima over Lateralus is the biggest predictor of whether they will dislike this album. It tends to show that they prefer Tool as a punchy rock band.

Just because you see 5's in the album's thread it doesn't mean that its hyped...in fact as far as I'm concerned, this album is very divisive, even among Tool fans...speaking for myself and a lot of users on this thread alone (not youtube mind lol) the 5 came after a serious amount of listens. I mean I've rated 4.5's and 5's more quickly than this one, and some of those I wouldn't be able replay this many times...I guess tha's what we call replay value...but again, I see someone see it otherwise.
