Why 'Marsbro' isn't that a board game manufacturer/publisher/whatever?

I'm getting a little burned out by 2019 lately, revisiting things and not feeling much. I'll have to spin this one again though, it's decent.

Only listened to this one time but I gotta admit, the atmosphere and overall vibe are strongly emphasized by the ultra melodic guitar lines which evoke a very dense mood throughout the whole record. I am not very fond of the vocals though. While not bad per se, they don't really stick out that much. i know that this is not the intention for this kind of genre but for me they do nothing to differntiate itself from comparable bands and lack some outstanding moments. Maybe the whole thing will grow on me though.

For anyone interested in familiar stuff, check the new white ward song

Looking forward to hearing that album when it drops. Their debut had plenty of room left for growth or at least perfecting their sound. Much more traditional black metal at its basic roots than this I reckon, and the sax/jazz components make it a different beast as well.

Vox here are pretty stellar and very fitting, i.e. "Pirouette of Hysterics."

Yeah, that new track really got me stoked for the record. Not too much of comparison to this despite the guitar arrangements maybe but the vibe reminds of this record smh.

Pirouette is a pretty sick song, agreed. I just wish there were some more variations of vocals on the whole record. I wouldn't mind them incorporating cleans during the atmospheric passages either

That could have been an interesting choice, and they did reveal its merits to an extent (the female vox on "Undertow"). However, the contrast employed by his harsh performance is powerful.

Haha, you keep trying to escape 2019, but it's not letting you go that easy!

Their debut is very engaging, although it's evident that their are kinks to iron out in their sound. Sophomore effort is set for 20th September.

undertow is pretty good, yeah. her voice sounds so fragile it's perfectly fitting to the song

That's the same day as new CoL, Houston we may have a problem. Yeah, I can't bloody wait to quit new music, but until the end of this year, that probably isn't happening. Something to look forward to anyway.

Once the barren days of January roll about, you'll be safe.

People like to quit even earlier in December, but I've started to figure out the November - December stretch is chock-full of sleeper hits.

When you're currently on an 'unbeaten' streak of 9 new releases, without anything eclipsing a 3.0, then it's perhaps understandable if doubts start to creep in. I wouldn't quit yet, worst time for it given how stacked the next month or so is looking.

The album didn't grab me as much as you guys, but the band's progressive approach does have its highlights.
