Yeah, her second longest album. 0 is 58 minutes, and this one is 50.

why is everyone bitter she’s getting exposure? i guess it sucks he’s reviewing one of her weakest albums but still, I swear people only feel comfortable obsessing with things that are adequately obscure and now that’s ‘tainted’ lol

Maybe people are worried it will effect her music in someway? I haven't noticed anything of the sort yet. I have noticed her utilizing instagram exposure a lot. She often live streams, and I see updates from IG on my phone from her pretty often. She's one of my most active friends on there, and that's seemed to work wonders for her. I'm happy for her if she can get the exposure she deserves.

@brainmelter I think it's mostly joking about being bitter. I'm just happy that she's getting more exposure.

Melon as in Anthony Fantano btw

Oh that guy haha - can't stand him.

why is everyone bitter she’s getting exposure?
imo Fantano himself is a fine reviewer and person in general but his fanbase is made up of a lot of cringeworthy memelord idiots, so as soon as he turns them onto something new, you start to see a lot of stupid shit being said about it by people who dont really know a whole lot about music.
but that's just a pet peeve, really. the reality is that Fantano is an incredibly influential tastemaker and he can bring so much exposure to artists by reviewing them, which can lead to (and has led to) larger fanbases, increased sales, new touring opportunities, and just greater popularity (esp outside of Japan) and financial viability in general. example: Damnably thanked Fantano for his Otoboke Beaver review; not long after the review was released, they said they literally sold hundreds of copies of the album because of it.
i seriously doubt that any of the people in this thread would have ever heard Haru Nemuri if Fantano hadnt reviewed her album. i remember what it was like for her before he reviewed it; comparatively few people were talking about her, especially outside Japan where most people had never heard of her. then immediately after he reviewed her there was a huge surge in her notoriety, including on this site, and it seemed like everyone knew who she was; so much of Haru's current popularity and (Otoboke's as well) outside Japan is definitely owed to Fantano. i think Death Grips and Daughters are two Western artists whose popularity has also been bolstered by his reviews. so it's ironic that a lot of people have this elitist attitude with respect to Fantano when their own tastes were probably shaped by him.
