Maybe someday they'll release an album that doesn't sound like it was recorded poolside.

throw me an anchor is like the one good song that's on par with their old stuff.

You're right, Tourniquet, I'm Already Gone, Borderlines, and Pale Sun are way better than anything they've done previously

this album is great. The production is the only thing that prevents me from 4'ing this

I’m still of the belief that the production isn’t THAT bad but then again I’ve never liked the production to most stoner metal albums

tis not Stoner, tis sludge, which only makes things worse!
But no, I appreciate their vision, I think I get where they went with this, but their live performances with proper sound are way more enjoyable

I just call em rock at this point cuz tbh I don't think there's any subgenre they comfortably fit in
people say they're sludge but they really haven't been sludgy at all since blue record
They get called prog and like yeah they def have the chops for it but they've also always been pretty direct and hook-driven
hell even stoner rock which is super blurrily-defined doesn't have any other bands they sound much like, except mayyyybe Torche who's also an edge case imo
