It's quite the jam altho I disagree with the skin graph comparison. Def sounds more like busy Bees to me

relistened to BN and it's like a 3.75, this is a 3.85 imo, maybe even 3.9. I don't dislike a single song off this, as with BN there's a few that are straight up forgettable imo

Hmmmm BN's still a bit higher for me, if only because of what a fuckin banger Cradle is

“Dude Cradle fucking rules and that's all that I read but still”

And that’s exactly why BN is such a disappointment. We get that song followed by an (almost) equally strong “Connection,” but it just goes to hell after that. Those songs show BN could’ve been a beast, much like I think the vastly underrated Mew +- album is. Those songs could’ve slipped onto +- and I wouldn’t even notice, and that’s a compliment.

I'm enjoying this overall, pretty catchy alt-rock. The lyrics are seriously cringy at times, but then again they've never been much of a lyrics band.

Brushed, you saying that led to the first occurrence of me realizing SP and Mew are kinda similar

I feel like tracks like Widow's Weeds and We Are Chameleons are great but are held back by the fact that this album is just okay which doesn't even make any sense. i'll give this one more listen before i decide on if this is a 3 or 3.5

this has a lot more bite than straight up catchiness / glossy pop appeal so I can understand the crit. but it's no doubt a lot like Swoon in theme and NotW in style with a more cacophonous production.

that mew+ album is so generic. pretty sure they haven't been good since no more stories.

only thing hurting this album is the lack of FUZZ like REAL fuzz u know. songwriting is there tho for it, bet these songs sound huge live tho

this album is blue balls. every time something cool is building it up it just stops or leads into something boring. a shame

I’ve loved every Mew album. Sure the sound has changed, but I feel they’re ultimately still Mew. No More Stories is easily best Mew, though, yeah. This band doesn’t know what the hell it wants to be
