Potato Salad is a slapper ("you would think I hate glass homes way I'm handlin the rock", fire) but Tiptoe is my favourite of the 2018 shit

interesting that he shoutouts Carti and laughs at the end of Tiptoe, confirming a Carti feature on IGOR before we knew it existed
wow Tyler really is the new Kanye

This got boring real fast, not even one memorable song on this

If you don't bother to compare and contrast this is just a super enjoyable listen

I love the production on this, but miss Tyler’s verses. Flower Boy is in my top five hip hop albums of the decade because it has insane production, but it also has some of the best lyrics of the decade across any genre. I think I’d honestly like this more if I didn’t know it was a Tyler album.

It's so dull, it just fades into the background. The songs lack substance, the production is nice but it doesn't hide the glaring issues this album has.
I'm looking for more than just pleasantry in music, so this doesn't do much for me.

I enjoyed the songs more after I saw his apple music concert where he gave the context behind the songs

Yeah I’ve definitely picked up the storyline people have been talking about, but the whole thing doesn’t grab me enough to pay attention to the context in its entirety

this shit fucking sucks, dude
even if it isn't as hard to get through as cherry bomb, the fact that we've seen Tyler actually work hard and come up with a decent album before makes this so much worse.
badly produced and lazily written demo-like songs with half-assed delivery. that's what this is.
This getting such a massively positive reception isn't surprising, honestly, but y'all whack fr.

i feel the problem started when he started releasing all those singles/free-styles last year.
they were aight, nice snippets. they work for what they were, tbh.
but everyone was like "WOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHH THIS IS THE SHIIIIIIIIT RIGH HERE MANEEEEEE, I LUV ALL THESE THEY'RE INMACULATE AND PERFECT IN EVERY WAY NO NEED TO STEP UP PRODUCTION OR LYRICS OR DELIVERY AT ALL, DUDE, THIS IS ALREADY PERFECTION!"

one last thing and i promise to leave y'all alone, Fantano defending the production on this album is some of the most cringe i've seen him in a long while.
Post-punk inspired? fuck right off, lmao.

album still rules, sorry if Tyler fanboys are annoying. Honestly I feel you.
I’m one of few that actually likes Cherry Bomb, and I will say the fact that people say the quality of this album is sooooo much better than cherry bomb shows how ignorant people are to the actual progression of his career.
