*it’s definitely a cop out to call these guys a boring band.
I probably elaborated on why this was such a colossal disappointment earlier in the thread. I have no desire to revisit it and update my opinion with a more nuanced critique. Boring album.

The next album is almost certainly not going to be this female guest-centric, can't we just appreciate this for the fun sonic detour it is. It was nice to hear Matt duet with some other great vocalists considering how Matt-centric literally their entire discography has been up to this point.

incredible strawman for a bunch of tired of middle aged men making tired room noises for 60+ minutes. if sput wants to blame the guest features for Matt B having no decent melodies to sing in his own voice, that's on them

Except this isn’t true as many people have ‘Trouble‘ right up there with their best. SWB has mostly solid feedback as well. So that just leaves this one then, which considering the departure in focus, isn’t exactly a major surprise.
