These guys, Born of Osiris and The Contortionist are the bands with this particular sound that have always rubbed me completely the wrong way.

Well this and contortionists new EP sure are hot garbage, but the rest of their stuff is great, but yeah, Born of Osiris are extremely hit or miss

Don't understand the low rating tbh. It's not too bad

but mostly just sad because I know they're better than this. Alex couldn't have left with that much creative force right?

I understand that they want to do something else, but just going a more boring style of tech-death isn't really the way to go with a more monotone vocalist...

The vocalist was definitely the weakest part for me.

It's less offensive coming back to it and viewing it as a wall of sound of endless chugging. It's a shit Fallujah record but I can see some positives now. I'd better hope so because I'm seeing them live at the end of the month. Anyone else catching them with Beyond Creation?

I doubt it. I'm not super into either band. Fallujah was decent when I saw them live a few years ago. I can't remember who the main band was. Maybe Devin Townsend?

Yeah man it was DTP! Actually that was a great show. First time seeing Devin live after 10+ years of listening and he blew me away. Maybe 2015-16?

I wasn't a huge fan of Fallujah's show that time, but maybe it was just the live mixing that blew ass. They were pretty OK the first time I saw them, which coincidentally was also opening for Beyond Creation in 2014 w/ Rings of Saturn.

Was a lot of standing there and focusing on their notes and next to zero banter. I guess I'll see how they are now with different material and a new vocalist.

Wow, what a turnaround. So I really didn't find this record interesting at all. And I've seen em twice before and it was "meh" each time, I think because of poor mixing.

Well this time around, minus Alex and Brian, but with GREAT sound, they really do put on a great show! New vocalist has more energy than Alex and that makes a difference too. But live the drums and guitars and backing tracks were LOUD and that actually made a difference. Wasn't muddy and boring anymore, but I could actually distinguish little harmonies and guitar bits that sounded excellent but I never noticed on record. Really cool. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised like that.
