I feared after a few songs that it was treading water and leaning on some familiar traits but by the end I was very taken by it. ‘due to depart’ and the closing two tracks are standouts right now!!

Guy’s certainly one of the very best storytelling lyricists. New one sound great but will take time to connect methinks.

The taverns are a decent way
To seal off all the stimulus (feel something close to death for just a little bit)

I'm about halfway through and I'd say it's a lot more immediate than this one was. Not sure if that means it'll wear off faster, but I'm enjoying it immensely right now.

Early impression is the new one isn’t quite as impressive as this one, particularly the ‘rockers’ aren’t as catchy/enjoyable
Still high quality though, the spoken work songs are v good

New one is a bit of a step down for me, unfortunately. Still great, and the bookends are especially brilliant, but don't think it's gonna keep me revisiting overall.
