Fool's Game isn't the strongest track in the first half, but I wouldn't knock it off this album before I'd eliminate some of the more basic singer-songwriter folk tracks across the back half. That moment where Fool's Game erupts is a nice little surprise although I suppose I could see the novelty wearing off after a whole bunch of listens. I dunno it's a solid 4/5 track for me.

Fool’s Game is driving me nuts - it goes on and on. It’s like three underworked sections tacked together with an awkward brickwalled climax in the middle. It just lands splat between two 4.5-5 pairings of songs on either side. Urgh.
Would have made a nice 90 second segue track to fade into the absolutely incredible ‘Race to the Bottom’ - that one’s song of the year for me so far.
