Yeah it's my first time listening to this band. I wasn't expecting the video game synths but they sound great. Thought this band was straight up black metal.

their first LP (lugburz) counts toward straight up black metal. the second LP onward has programmed drums and more prominent synths which push them into the atmospheric bm group of things. stronghold is kind of an outlier, doesn't really sound like anything else they've done, it's really like, idk, cinematic

I have never understood Summoning. On paper they're a band that I should really love and appreciate but I never did. Now I get them though. This is awesome.
