I know Steve Lamos left the band so maybe they are in a sort of hiatus? Obviously Mike Kinsella still has Owen. Also seeing this pop up as a new comment and myself being a new member, I'll have to weigh in on American Football and Owen at some point.

Thanks JayEnder! I may as well say a few things about this album. I grew to like LP2 quite a lot in time. Originally I only liked the two singles and was just kinda meh about it. I went into this album not knowing anything about it really other than that it had some female vocals on it. It's definitely more ambitious than LP2 and songs like 'Heir Apparent' are just so warm feeling, 'Life Support' is beautiful in a melancholy way and a excellent closer. It's a great album. I wouldn't rate the hookability real high on some of the songs but on repeated listens everything just comes together and flows well. I think the only song I groan a little bit still about is 'Doom in Full Bloom' just because I feel like it takes too to long to get going, but when it kicks in, it's great. I suppose 'I Can't Feel You' is a a little odd but it's fine.

I checked out those two songs by Lies (Mike and Nate's project). They were interesting. Blemishes had a nice upbeat vibe. I need to hear them more to really soak them in. American Football put out a music video for 'Fade into You' a couple months ago but that was the last two songs they made ('Rare Symmetry' being the other) when Steve Lamos was still in the band.
