i like DS2. the dlcs are some of my favourite souls content, aside from the co-op areas.

bb>ds3=sotfs>ds1=des

Up there with the best boss themes ever created.

There¡s something about Souls of Fire (the character cration theme) and Firelink themes that it's so comforting and healing, idk, reminds me of the save room themes of Resident Evil.

That mix of dread, fear and comfort. Really difficult to put into words.

well put. i love souls of fire in particular. it’s hard to describe... ominous and ambiguous but forlorn. so fitting.

lol nice. when i’m in Ash Lake i tend to stand around to take in the surroundings and listen to the music for while. and no matter how much i play DS2 the majula theme will never get old.

i love how sparingly they use ambient music in these games, makes it so memorable when they do (Hail the Nightmare in bloodborne!!).

Oh dude, Majula is so good, same, I just wonder around like an idiot until the waifu tells me "bearer seek seek lest" and then off I go.

Hunter's dream in BB is so good too omg and Ash Lake, that place is just smth else, and it's so simple!

i love chilling on the edge of the cliff and looking out from majula. even if a small part of me will always be slightly annoyed that the distances don’t make any sense lol.

man agreed about hunters dream, and i LOVED how the music changed once you got however many insight(s)

I love the breathy sound effect in ds1 when you interact with the menus too

Definitely the sound department in Souls games was key in hooking me to the series. Can't get enough of that soul absorbing effect. Or when you beat a boss, that blasting short chant lol

agreed! i have been playing through them with a good set of headphones lately, never really did that before. every aspect of the sound is incredible in most of these games (I’ve found DS2 is meh). like just walking through central yharnam with headphones on makes a huge difference, so awesome and immersive

sound engineers in FS are gods.

no lie the sound design is probably a top 5 reason why these games are so good.

Exactly my feelings Byrnes.

And I still haven't got my hands on the Demon's remake.

I wish ps5 stock wasn't so scarce, I have a feeling it's gonna be like this for at least another year

Even though this is my favourite souls game after finishing all three of them, I prefer the soundtrack of DS3.
