First five albums all rule hard and then they did begin to stagnate.
This was (still is) really good however.

The way this band turned me from hater to lover in their later years speaks to their talent

co-founder, guitarist and frontman Alexi was a talented, tortured soul powerhouse.
RIP. Very solid discog to re-explore.

I’m exploring for the first time.
|
| |
But honestly doesn’t seem that great
|
| |
It’s like a cringier generic Cradle of Filth with none of the good songwriting.

starting a counterclockwise discog walk, here; great fun band to jam, first time i visit this particular album. Good guitar play on the T/t, very well done.

"The juvenile aspect hasn’t completely disappeared though, for a song like ‘Platitudes and Barren Words’ still gives us phrases like “Come on just lay it on the line. You’re running on fumes and out of time"
If only we knew how real those lyrics were for him at that time

time has been so good to Bodom. one of those bands i always loved, but still had trouble jiving with in regard to some of the cheesier aesthetic, now after years of listening to death metal bands taking themselves too seriously, i really appreciate that these guys never lost sight of their love of 80s cheese, you can tell W.A.S.P. was a massive influence.
their sound has held up as really original in retrospect and Alexi really was a generational talent. the solos are always such an event in a COB song and he is honestly such a tasty and melodic player with such a penchant for flash, dude could be blackout drunk and still shred everybody else on the bill into the ground.

I'm a month late on this but anyone checking out the CoB v2.0?
