"This rules but it’s not even close to best bm I’ve heard this year."

Then what is? Enlighten us. This is the first notable bm I heard about this year. Checked out that album by Kala. sucks

The main things that are up there with this for me is Saor and Vanum. Not sure what other BM came out this year, I've been listening to a lot of random things and stuff from previous years.

Jam some of the ones I listed Game. Jamming the new Kalma now too and it rules.

Kalma not to be confused with Kalmah who put out a new album last year...

So I see you use the term BM loosely because a lot of those bands aren't straight up black metal. When I hear "there's a new BM release" my mind immediately goes to bands like Mgla and Darkthrone

Yeah I feel you. I was just throwing out anything that was primarily bm but a lot of those have other genres mixed in for sure.

Agreed. It's not bad. It just doesn't exactly floor me either.

Yeah unfortunately I couldn't really get into this. It just feels like this type of BM has been done to death at this point and nothing about the songwriting really stands out despite the talent of the band.

It has but it’s solid and does its job. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is a lot fuzzier and not as clean as I was led to believe, but it ain't too shabby thus far.
