Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of the ending of At Wit’s End. Felt like an artificial way to lengthen a song that was already running a little long

Overall this is pretty great, but why is nobody talking about how shit Out of Reach is?

Out of Reach is ok imo, although it's really weird hearing DT write a straight-up love song

I'm actually liking this more than I thought I would. It may because it reminds me of Mac's era Threshold at times.

This does kinda sounds like Thresholds yeah aka the best example of a prog metal band that doesn't overdo the prog

Exactly bloc, the moments I disliked in this one are the ones when they go over the top, but I love the spacey sci-fi feel of some parts.

@sonic yeah the Walmart near my home has quite a few CDs though DT would be some of the most fringe stuff they stock. Most is modern mainstream and a few oldies and compilations. Not a place I shop regularly lol

A word of warning: bonus track "Viper King" is a hidden track on the standard CD. It's pretty terrible!

I feel like I'm just so glad this isn't nearly as rough as the last album.

Yeah, those were some my favourite parts too. Like on Haken's Affinity

this record is just decent to their standards, but LaBrie ruins so many songs with the wierd effects and his awful sounding high vocals. I don't get how he sounds significantly worse here, where he sounded quite nice on The Astonishing

The effects render his voice inoffensive when they're used and I think that's for the better in these moments lol.
