The intro to Room 137 sounds a lot like Drop Dead Cynical by Amaranthe to me

anyway, this is a pretty solid album

Now that the album is out, can the horde of drooling mouthbreathers remove their 5 ratings that """counterbalanced""" the three or four people hating on it

My actual rating for this is like a 7.5/10, but alas we can only choose in natural numbers and no rationals, so I'll round it up since this is easily the freshest they've sounded in years.

Album is a beast. Fun, heavy, very proggy in parts without going overboard on the song lengths. Best production they've had since Portnoy too.

Easily their best since ADTOE (which was the best since TOT).

The album loses some interest after Barstool Warrior, in my opinion

With a doubt the best and most consistent album DT released since Black Clouds. Despite the shorter length they still manage to channel a lot of their earlier material in this one. S2U (one of my favorite songs) is almost Awake-esque in its heaviness. Fun songs, great instrumentalization, and finally a balanced production.

Yea, At Wit's End is my favourite and they need to give JM more time to shine like in S2N in the future

Yup, Mying and Mangini really stepped up their game here. Best drumming and drum production on a Mangini album.

I still think "Fall into the Light" is the best song on the album and probs best DT song since Black Clouds.

Haha. Honestly I used to defend him a lot, and I enjoyed his contributions on a lot of albums, but for the last few albums it was just tiring and uninspired

Agreed Rowan, Scarred and Octavarium stomp on that for days.

Another hot take: AdtoE was better than BC&SL

Octavarium might be my favorite DT song, so for me it is.
