Yeah, Vetry Zlye is the best track off this album but Heretics as a whole, imo, is kinda dissapointing. I mean, all this bloody effort on the last albums to show how many cultural influences this band has (Greek, Arabic, Byzantine, Zoroastrian and even idk what else) distracts Rotting Christ from being what they used to be: a great band with character and some killer riffs.

The character is still there. There aren't many bands that sound like them

Agreed about the riffs though

Gave it another spin after a long time. It's not as bad as I initially thought it was, some songs on here rule, and Sons of Hell should be a proper track, its squeeling riff is too good to be a bonus... Doesn't reach the heights of AEALO, Kata ton Demona or Rituals (I still head bang hard to Ze Nigmar), but it's a good listen when on a RC binge...

Agreed but haven't jammed this one since it came out, even though I was in a Rotting Christ mood recently.

I’d even wager I enjoy it more now than I did back then. Might bump up my rating

After hearing Sarkis on new Insomnium, went back to this and still slayz. The Raven is such an awesome closer

how can anyone not love this band, their discography is some of the best in metal overall. Early stuff you get melodic bm, mid to new stuff you get epic shit. i wear them proudly on my battlejacket

Choosing the same painting that Arghoslent used as the cover for incorrigible bigotry was...a choice...
