I guess so! I swear I checked this already when it was released though. It's going on the list again.

If you don't remember this, it certainly says a lot about the quality of songwriting

Hmm yeah, that's true. But I've tried a lot of new music this year, and this is almost 8 months old already.

That's a low score Pika. Is it that bad?

Haha, fair enough. Hate warrants a 1.0. Let's see where this stands for me. Still fair and square in In Cauda land though so this might take a while.

Pros so far:

Some great vibes, beats are delicious, beautifully produced, lovely 90s throwbacks.

Cons so far:

Too heavy-handed with the auto tune, reminds me a lot of The xx sometimes.

It gets too sappy sometimes, and too r&b-ish for my tastes. Also for just under 50 minutes it feels long.

However, I do like some tracks here, and like I said there are some nice vibes. Feeling this is a hesitant 3.0 at the moment.

that's fair. for some reason I find the sappiness kind of nice and endearing, other than a couple cheesy lines. and yeah he does the auto tune thing a bit too much but I feel like it fits pretty well

I still don't really get the sappiness complaint. Maybe I just don't understand what it is for something to be sappy. What do you guys mean by that?

The line that sticks out to me is "and she crowns herself the queen of the broken hearts"

that's probably my least favorite line here.

An example of good/nice sappy that I like is "I just wanna make you smile on your worst day, I just wanna make you cake for your birthday"

Right, yeah, I like that line from on your worst day too. In general I think this is very strong, lyrically. I might just be really sappy myself, then, because nothing on this raises any flags. I just feel and enjoy all of it wholeheartedly lol.

I think the final couple of tracks go knee deep (hmmm, no, maybe the sap reaches all the way to their chins) into the land of sappyness.

Urban Dictionary says: ''to be romantic in a foolish or exaggerated way''

Merriam Webster says: ''3a : overly sweet or sentimental''
