Speaking from experience it's the music that hurt the most in the moment that I ended up latching onto forever

There's something about enduring painful experiences that magnifies the impact of music and forever ties it to those memories

That is very true. But it still takes a bit of time to be able to revisit certain songs/albums. I dont think I’ll be able to listen to any Snow Patrol song anytime soon still. I’m not even a big fan per se, but it was “our” band. 2 weeks or so after the breakup I was at work in the store and suddenly the radio started playing Just Say Yes, “our” song. Couldnt deal with it and had to remove myself.

But yeah, it’ll get better and one day I’ll be able to revisit those memories and be without the pain and heartache. It’s a process in the making.

Lay Here might be the best. those wonky synths half way through the chorus are infectious

I’m so close to 5ing this, but it’s not quite there yet. Phenomenal album though. Yeah those synths in Lay Here are absolutely fantastic.
