Good review dude, POS. Copeland are amazing, and I've been looking forward to this one since I heard the two singles. Ixora was fantastic. I agree it was very much multi-genre kinda all over the place, but it was still very Copeland. They are one of those bands that no matter what they end up experimenting with it still very much sounds like them. Anyways, giving this a spin now

Atari did you not dig this? Did you dig Ixora? Are you a fan of their earlier stuff like Beneath Medicine Tree/Pin Your Wings?

cheers Dungeon and Atari (tho that's parently untrue Atari you cheeky bugger)

I loved Ixora especially in that first month but it feels kind of... clinical to me now. I don't know if it's just a production thing but Erase, Ordinary and World Turn are the only 3 that really move me nowadays (all undoubtedly top-tier Copeland tunes). this is exactly the followup to it I needed

@Rowan I hear you man, and agree that Erase is easily one of the best Copeland songs. I just listened through this new one, and it's very good. My immediate reaction is it's a step up from Ixora. It's more thematic and cohesive, which really pulls it all together, and it hits harder. Excited to give it another listen soon

Rowan I’m just teasing (mostly)

Dungeon I actually haven’t listened to those albums. I think I heard You Are My Sunshine in full, but never really got into them. Ofc I’ll give this new one some more spins

Let's say I was a silly person who'd never listened to Copeland before, but really liked The Lulls in Traffic. Is this a worthwhile place to start? This review makes it sound amazing. (Also great writing as always, Row)

I would say their second album is a good place to start, but then again I've only really listened a lot to their first three albums.

@Project You Are My Sunshine is probably the closest to Lulls' vibe, I'd recommend starting there then branching to Eat Sleep Repeat, Ixora and this

thanks for the comment teebs :D

Copeland has got to have one of the most amazingly consistent discorgraphies out there, and the artistic progression they’ve shown is second-to-none. Easily joining the five club on this one!

I also want to throw in some love for Strange Flower. The transition into the bridge towards the end of the song is absolutely flawless and heartbreaking.
