Good review. I'm not crazy about mid-period Xiu Xiu, but I think the past 4-5 have been excellent, this included. 'It Comes Out as a Joke' is an all timer IMO

Whilst that may be true I actually miss the noisier and potentially jarring (as sometimes it can be) Xiu Xiu, this is so lifeless in comparison. Is it listenable? Sure. Is there better 'background' music out there? Definitely. In fact finding pleasant background music that's preferable is so absurdly easy, that I could never see that as a selling point.
