also on an aside i feel sad reflecting on people who still can't take mainstream pop music with a grain of salt. looking back a few years ago the music snob in me would never allow me to enjoy anything of the like, nor would it allow me to distinguish between good and bad mainstream pop songs. thing is, thats a personal hangup and a closed-mindedness that just serves to minimize the capacity for the enjoyment of music. those kinds of attitudes and the pretentiousness of feeling musically 'cultured' and superior to the LCD music listener, paired with the moderation of compulsive music consumption from a critical angle, makes arbitrary digits and compartmentalization take precedent over the spectrum of primal emotional reactions you can get out of music. its very limiting and not only did it hinder my ability to have many different, discerning types/levels of enjoyment, i also think it made me a much bigger douche

I don't think 7 rings is a good song, but it's interesting, it bumps in the whip, and everyone that hates it hates it for all the wrong reasons and it pisses me off.
