Definitely give Rip Tide and this a go. I never really gave Rip Tide the credit it deserved until very recently and this definitely is a return to form.

agreed on the closing tracks, a weak way to end the album. but the first two thirds are really special. on the third track i thought i was going to get sick of his drawl, but they made strides in keeping things fresh for almost the entire duration of the album which isn’t something i’ve felt with this band before



i giardini is an early front runner for SOTY

Yeah, ending doesn't really do the rest of the album justice. If it ended at Light in the Atoll, I'd probably say it's my fav Beirut.

Still a very close second to Gulag in my eyes though!
