I mean, I hear that they are sick live, but that doesn't cover up for trash music.

Seeing them live made me want to off myself

They have the energy for sure but energy doesn’t cover up irredeemable music

this is getting acclaim because it reaffirms the political sentiments of the critics and isn't quite as bad as I assume Prophets of Rage was.

Nah this is just as shit as Prophets of Rage is/was.

Debatable. I deliberately avoided Prophets of Rage when it dropped, so there's that.

I never spun PoR in full at all. But what I heard just seemed very boring and not offensively terrible

PoR was a phoned in shit attempt at a cash grab by a bunch of losers in their midlife crisis whilst shitting all over Zack's legacy. So it was offensively bad, just in a different way.

This reaffirms my political standings and it's still shit.

Same with Prophets. What the fuck is with all these great artists coming together to make shit music.

yeah it still confuses me how Rocked could give this a 9/10 yet act like Scars & Souvenirs isn't even a 1/10.

I think we can at least agree that bland radio rock is less offensively bad most of the time than an album like this.

Music press, online or paper, is a dead business. Any money they can get, they will

Hot take: this is constantly on the verge of being fantastic and I'm confident they could pull off an incredible album like this one hints at. With a little less focus on crisp production and a little more on killer songwriting, they'd probably put together something that rivals Fake History and Blackest Beautiful.

This definitely isn't as bad as Sputnik seems to think it is.

It’s certainly leagues worse than the average music critic would like you to believe

I keep trying to like this. It has the occasional big riff, but it's just... so forced and not good.

Big sad reacts going on right now.

No grammy for these guys. But to say something positive about this album: Jasons clean sung vocals really improved.

I feel like Butler would be such a good effing vocalist and lyricist if he didn't take himself so seriously. Fake history must have been a fluke...

I think I might have been too generous giving this an extra half star for "Am I Here".
