"Mixing was alright for the guitars and drums having their nice pocket in the mix, but lead vox were a bit high too high and bass guitar tone lacks a bit of punch IMO. But that master is so loud with the clicky drums and everything just squashed"

yeah on second listen you're right, but I think it kinda suits them? TLI was definitely mixed better though, I'm still waiting for an impact moment as good as the first riff in Spectrum of Eternity.

I don't see any reason to revisit this album at any time, it's all okay but nothing stands out as really special. By far the worst of their last 3. Stålfågel is pretty neat though.

6 songs in - glad that the stabbing the drama era at the very least is not coming back. this is pretty great, though probably doesn't match up to the last two. better than the panic broadcast tho

pretty amazing vocal melodies, but I don't feel like listening to it another time right now

the heaviness is toned down a bit too. still way better than the sellout era tho

I like that the heaviness was toned down a bit, definitely something different in comparison to their last three albums

Definitely agree on that point. It’s lighter and more airy than most death metal records and I think that works pretty well.
