Apocalypse Blooms is absolutely one of Failure's best songs. I'd argue it smashes a majority of the tracklist from Fantastic Planet.

eh. my problem with this album is it just seems so reserved in a lot of ways. the bass never really goes off (see Pillowhead) and vox are really generic (which is odd because I loved the vox on the 90s stuff). production is a bit too clean. riffs are pretty sick at times tho

his 90s vocals are bargain bin cobain though, def prefer them now.

Damn, lyrics are pretty bleak throughout

Small Crimes is actually my favorite Failure song. Shame we didn't get more of that style--they're more interested in their psychedelic side it seems, but they're churning out good songs so I'm happy with it.

Damn Observer, Fantastic Planet at 2.5?!

"if anything the 90s vox sound a little bit like early marynard"

If the three vocalists you've ever heard were Maynard, Ken, and Lady Gaga then maybe

Scott, yeah. Its because the grungey factor is way too high on that album for me. To a degree, its here too but not nearly as much, or not enough to bother me at least.

Yep

Any fans of this or failure in general should check Thought Industry's album, Short Wave On A Cold Day (my current dig). Great alt rock with spacey production choices.

Oh cool. Nothing that band really sounds like that so i was definitely surprised when I heard it.

Ill prob throw another review up of this in the future, really quite the hell of an album.

I don't get the hype for this album. It's decent, but pales in comparison to their '90s stuff.

This is good because it doesn't sound like 90's, yet it remembers them...not comparing...its dense work mate.
