Jammed it twice and I must say the review is spot on. Good first half, average the second one. No relations with the golden era of the band, moreover all the band members, except the drummer, are different. Many Borknagaresque passages and somehow "safe" compositions flatten the result. Just good.

The review is well written but I do not see a decline at all in the second half of the album. This is AOTY material for me. His vocals were never better and the song writing is stellar, somewhat a mix of heart of the ages and Omnio.

I had no idea for A Forest of Stars till somebody mentioned them somewhere in Sput. And then I saw they have an album titled Opportunistic Thieves of Spring and I was WTF. Amazing title, amazing album. Blackened British bands had always rare potentials.
