I think it might be my least favorite of his three albums. IDLS is a borderline 5 and while this is much more consistent and concise than Doris, it doesn't have the absolute standouts that that album does.

All of his previous work has been solid, but none of them have been as experimental and focused as this. Instead of him relying on production like he usually does, he instead flipped it on this and emphasized on his rapping and mood more. Production is more sample heavy and stripped down because of that which only adds to the dark tone.

Idk I still kind of stand by the notion that this isn't really as experimental/unique as everyone keeps letting on... and I think a lot of people's inability to describe this album without bringing up Dilla, Doom, or Madlib kinda proves that point.
