“his show here for this album sold out and ppl seemed so disappointed at how low energy it was. i thought it was sick”
I bet you (all) would act disappointed if Earl sobered up.

If every song here was to the level of "Grief" this'd be such a hard 5.

Unclereich that's an interesting opinion. You might be right, but I've never rly considered earl a singles kind of guy. His songs in particular don't stand out to me, I usually spin his records front to back

I wouldn't say he is a singles guy either, but that song funnily enough has a crazy story behind it. it was meant to be the lone single off the album and was supposed to be released the night before the album dropped. the record company fucked up and accidentally dropped it way too early. the whole album release was supposed to be a much bigger secret. he was so mad, because, like you said, he had never been a singles guy but really wanted grief to be one

that's interesting. grief def has more of a singles vibe to it than his other tracks

say goodbye to my openness
total eclipse
of my shine that I've grown to miss
when holding shit in
open my lids
my eyes say my soul is amiss
the signs say we close to the end

Had no idea. Seems like record labels fuck this up pretty routinely. I've heard instances of this happening to other artists too.
