Mmm, can't say there was. Nothing on here jumped out as truly awful, just terribly generic. Actually, have you ever heard of Spoken? They do this sound so, so much better, especially on albums like Illusion and Breathe Again. I reckon you'd love them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TAJqCJYs8E

I honestly think that Unconditional is the best record these guys have made. It's a shame that these guys have a great drummer and they had some great riffs in the dual guitarist set-up, but now that he's gone I think this band can't really be saved. At least they finally made a record with decent production, but this is just boring alt metal, just like This Light I Hold was boring generic Risecore...
I think this is the final nail in the coffin for the band. It's kind of funny how this genre always tries it's best to be this tad bit off with implementing pop-production into their songs, like the small trap beats hidden into Heavy is the Weight. Bands can't really seem to choose between going pop or staying a metalband. Atleast BMtH made a clear choice, which atleast brought them succes. This record already feels dated in comparison.

Honestly, I think the poppier elements add to the album, but that's just me.

I think it's really poorly executed, and the choruses aren't catchy or have any redeeming qualities. Atleast This Light I Hold and Carry On had catchy lines but I haven't found anything worth coming back to on this record sadly

A better review than your last. I’ve never cared for this band (and in all honesty) not about to start.
Agreed about the points of progress between your first few reviews and what you’re putting out now. Just be careful you don’t find yourself unwittingly copying pasting your review style

wish I liked this more. The Hollow is still a great metalcore record.

“Actually, have you ever heard of Spoken? ” when I was listening to the single, all I could think of was how much it sounded like a song that could’ve fit on Breathe Again

@KenboSlice: I wonder if there are any bands who are utilizing the sound on that album.

I'd love to see a negative review of this, I want to see why it's getting so much shit for being what I'd like to think is another alright Christian rock record. I don't foresee a lot of this staying in heavy rotation myself either, aside from "The Old Me", "Heavy Is the Weight", "You and Me", and "Live Another Day", a lot of this is just average.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved MMF. The Hollow was an amazing album? And the two after we’re decent additions. Their last album slipped a little, but still had some jams. This album however, I just can barely stand it. Some songs are pretty good. The Old Me, You & Me. But my god some songs are terrible. Watch Out, Heavy Is The Weight. Just yikes. It definitely is somewhat different than their old stuff so I still give them props, so there’s that.
