In concept, the idea of an 80's synthwave Muse album sounds pretty interesting. But this ain't it. If someone told me that this was a Matt Bellamy solo project I'd genuinely believe them. Instrumentally this could've been written by any artist, apart from maybe Pressure and Blockades.

Personally, this is the first (and only) album Muse have seriously dropped the ball on. The Resistance & Drones were semi-decent and the 2nd Law was average, but this is terrible.

I'm starting to feel like this is my favourite Muse album post The Resistance. Reminds me of Gorillaz and Everything Everything in some parts too.
