Worst thing imo is the generic deathcore vocals, but they're on to something. Next album could be good.

Deathcore's been dead for a while now, unfortunately. Kept hoping I'd see a resurgence since the genre still had untapped potential, but it's been lost.

Dude, I used to be like you, but the forerunners have either switched genres or died off. Everyone here thought I was crazy because I championed deathcore for years, swore it still had something left in it. Fact is, no one is willing to step up to the plate. This scene, and that "downtempo" sect, they got too stubborn and never changed. Same shit, every time.

For the record, I still think it could be pushed to another level. But no one ever will. The status quo has settled.

Bands like Enterprise Earth, Shadow of Intent are bands pushing dxc into another levels. The genre isn't dependent on its forerunners, I'll take this new-age deathcore scene over 2008 SS/Whitechapel scene anytime.

I will admit some bands have changed for the better by moving away from the dxc, such as Thy Art and I'll also admit some bands are still relying on old tried and tested formulas (ANIT,AngelMaker) but there definitely are newer core bands out there making albums better than anything from their aforementioned forerunners, that are keeping this genre fresh, no way any quo has been settled and I'll still stand by that.

DxC is at it's best when merged with other genres and a lotta bands have started to do as such. Carnifex, Bog Wraith, Make Them Suffer (ok, they DID shift to being outright progressive mxc).

DxC is flourishing my dude

"DxC is at it's best when merged with other genres"

Literally this. Enterprise Earth is techdeath DxC, Carnifex is doomymetal DxC, ect.
