Someone said Host is quite Opeth which is true but it's actually even more so very very Storm Corrosion - most of it anyway besides when it finally gets heavy

This whole Hakmen album is so well constructed, every track sits exactly where it should. Host gave chills

I just saw these guys with Leprous a few days ago. The singer isn't so great live but everything else was spot on.

For sure that was a good one, I wanted to see The Cell Divides live, but they didn't play it because I don't think the singer can pull it off live.

Personally I wanted to see the whole album played plus The Architect with Einar but no

Einar could sing A Cell Divides and nobody would notice it was a Haken song.

After repeated listens....want to give this more than a 4.5...but not quite a 5.

This is definetly not a 5 in my books, it's too cold for that imo. But it could be a 4.5 idk. It's so good

Well this album is definitely a grower. One thing that stuck out here is that it's genuinely got elements from ALL of their albums/EPs which is a huge upside for me. You could say this is the quintessential Haken sound. The thing that brings this down for me (which is wierd to say) is the runtime. Should've been longer man...

I actually like this one's runtime. It definitely hold my attention in a way that the other Halen albums rarely did.

For me it's the over processed vocals that hinder me from giving it a higher score. It kind of feels very impersonal and can't reach me on an emotional level most of the time. But it's an absolute banger

For me it‘s like the opposite of a grower. The first time listening to Veil and Nil of Mouth was a fucking ride, but now I don‘t really have the desire to come back to this.

Agree that the record feels kind of cold and impersonal.

Well honestly I wouldn't expect emotion to be at the forefront of an album called Vector. I started listening to this band around the time Visions was released, and even though The Mountain is by far their best album, I see this as being the most logical release after Visions soundwise and thematically. Sure, they could've given Ross more spotlight, but it's always good to mix things up a bit. I love that the instrumental part is what makes this album outstanding, the vocals are just in service of the songs, another instrument if you will, on here.

I do feel though that his vocals carry 0 emotion, he sounded more genuine on Aquarius and Visions imo
