Not getting into a whole art v artist thing but singing along knowing someone is a horrendous abusive twat definitely takes something away from 2 if my fave records ever. the issue is that he already came across as a massive twat before these allegations. like I had to actively suppress my desire to slap him in the face to enjoy his music. so if these turn out to be true he will be way over the line of twattiness

I also feel like the instrumentals are a huge part of what makes this so good though. not sure how much of a role he played in them. if the band can continue making instrumentals this good, they could easily get another singer

He obviously has demons with sex and alcohol. He has stated that Hell Songs was written solely based off his addiction issues, and that was all the way back in 2006.

Nah I think hes unique in his field despite massively scott walker /nick cave influenced in his lyrics. His solo record also shows elements of this album so im gonna guess he has an influence on the writing too. It wouldn't he the same band without him especially more so the way this album went.
Also is 'came accross a massive twat' soley off one video where he gets his dick out I take it? and his mad stage antics many moons ago. Enough to live up to that title.. yeah, but fuck me, He looked like hed addressed all that shit,that vids 15 years old. The band got back together and He does come off extremely smart in interviews and willing to accept his problems in moving on and beating them. Or should i say 'Seemed to be' cos clearly fking not if this is true.

agreed with the first two sentences, but tbh him being a verified abusive scumbag wouldn't change my attitude to daughters' music all that much
wouldn't be an easy guy to replace if they did go that route - for all he's not all that unique and can't hold a candle to any of the greats of this style (yow/robinson/cave etc), i feel his energy and commitment to those performances ain't the kinda thing you can comfortably open audition for. good luck daughters.
