You should Flug...this is better than a 2.5 experience once you really on it, and off course...in the mood for it. I can see the length as step-back but every riff is relentless and cool, every track is a beast of its own, not to mention the "slow parts" and melody they achieve for the genre.

Hmmm this flows nicely and is masterfully crafted and executed. But it's incredibly even and melodic for it's genre.. it doesn't push you out of comfort zone, it's not at all a challenging listen.. Would it be unfair to call it Pop Brutal death?
On another note: How culturally depraved must a metal community be to have Aborted as headliner on a tour with Cryptopsy?? Thats's Europe....
Well, these guys surely are a good live band and their material screams for an enjoyful blasting, but come on... worlds apart from creators, originators, trailblazers like Cryptopsy!

people should take a bit more attention to the dudes...their work is challenging but yeah, its playful so you may get that impression that is "not challenging". Its pretty modern for oldschoolers sometimes...but for those you may check Goremaggedon...or Retrogore for another horror concept lol I know they're Belgians but come on, some of the albums are pretty well rated for such a lack of love here on sput...check this review from a specialized perspective:

it's very harmonic and catchy. It's technically great and flows very which makes it a pleasant listen. But that's about what I can say about this album... far from being bad, but far from being overly interesting and memorable too.

There something in the layering of the guitars and some of the tremmy + arpeggiated leads that has brings this BM-ish feel to the whole thing which is so awesome

It helps that it's a mix of guitar tones, cus the album was quad tracked with 2 rectos and 2 HM-2 tracks. gives it a bit more grit whilst still being tight enough on the more technical parts
fun album anyway. pretty much the top of the more mainstream DM bunch imo, band does a good jack of all trades kinda sound with deathgrindy parts, layered parts, simpler death metal parts, ect, good stuff

Vocals are awesome too, going from some PD screams, to anaal nathrakh voice samples and gore vocal often used on grindcore nasty as ever. Fun indeed and allways interesting to see this being called mainstream hihi

it's definitely more commercially viable than other more extreme death metal, and aborted is probably one of the biggest death metal bands in europe.
