Cardinal is still excellent, but Meridian is super underrated imo

The bridge in Darkness is my favorite part of the record.
"Some people spend their whole lives looking
For someone who could understand
And while meanwhile a lilac blooming
Sometimes on the driest land
And I know it's been a long time coming
I'm angry and I know that's weak
So I'm trying not to be so bitter
I'm just looking at it honestly"

Those are my favorite lyrics on the album. Those lines hit hard for me for some reason.

Skylight would have been in every single camping-adjacent commercial for the next year under normal circumstances.

Those are some of my favorites too...

What's funny is I found that section too obvious—too easy. Amplified by its musical context.

a couple of meh tracks but this is an enjoyable easy listen, not quite the same level as cardinal obviously

It's pretty good. I feel like it's missing the personality of Cardinal.

I think the back half is actually pretty stacked. Easy Enough, Thanksgiving, Darkness, Skylight, Lights On. All very good tracks. I'm probably just tired of Intrepid and Angelina.

Imo the middle just lacks overall. Between Intrepid and Easy Enough it’s just kinda okay, and even then I always want EE to be longer/more fleshed out. I will say that EE leads excellently into Darkness.

Yeah the middle is severely lacking but the highlights make up for it hard
