Lots to like on the new one, but yeah kinda wish it was like 2-3 songs longer. It's only at 34 mins for the run time, and I feel like they are more suited for like 45 mins or so.
That said, it's still pretty damn fun. It's probably a 3.5 on first listen but it'll grow. Most of their shit grows on me after a few months so I wouldn't be surprised if it grew to a 4 or 4.5 like the others did lol.

yeah, their only release that clicked right away with me was Secret Wars and I guess Mental Knife but that's also the only one that didn't grow.
I think longer songs could've mad this better. closer could've been one of their best with some more development time

i'm a huge advocate for Culture Scars but it's definitely the least HTS sounding album as a whole. but still not as much as what I think everyone makes it out to be? Dysfunction, Body Damage, and Ministry of Truth all get pretty wild
and most artists won't even come close to writing a riff and hook as infectious as the ones in Entertainment Lies.

Yeah Slex, Domino is so rad. Probably my favorite here, but it's too early to tell lol. Slander, Misfire, Made Your Mark, Slipped My Mind, Parasitic Cleanse, Punch Drunk... they're all fucking good. Already think my 3.5 I said earlier is outdated lmao. It's at least a 4.
My only real complaint is the length. Musically it's as good as anything they've done before. Hopefully there's a deluxe version that includes 2-3 extra tracks.

Getting some strong Circa vibes on the first 20 seconds or so on Misfire. Reminds me of something that would be on Blue Sky Noise or something.
Also the chorus to Slander is super catchy. Donovan sounds great here.

Listened through the new one a few times today and it is good, but not sure if I like it as much as this. The singles so far (especially Domino) have stood out and the rest seems like a quick slush together.
