That's what I wanna ask. How is the Winter Solstice on the album? Does anyone prefer the ep version?

I might prefer the EP version. The LP version hardly varies at all, other than being more upbeat. I think whichever I heard first was going to have the edge since they're so similar, and in most people's cases that'll be the EP recording.

The opening 3 is a great stretch but W&B through the end is clearly the best. The middle is amazing but not as good as how this starts or ends.

Hydra is prob my third favourite here and I think people are kinda underrating it. The verses are so melodious and the chorus is just absolute fire

Yeah our rankings are very similar. Julia and Michael are 2 of their best songs hands down

Also agreed that the start and end of the album is superior to the middle. Some damn good stuff in the middle but the first few songs are absolutely perfect and the flow is just right

Fantastic review Sowing. Your review for Pale Horses is what really helped me fall in love with this band, and now their my favorite band of all time. Beyond stoked for the album. If it's even half as good as your review suggests, my aoty is cemented. It probably won't usurp B/S (my favorite album of all time), but since I think all but 2 of their albums are perfect albums, I see no reason why this one wouldn't be perfect as well.

Awesome Dan. I feel slightly elated that I even helped nudge another person towards the brilliance that is mwY.

Glad to see Carousels on there. Four Word Letter Pt 2 is also soooooo fucking good, same with Paper Hanger. 3 tracks from my favourite mwY album actually, that's awesome. Really surprised to not see Sweater on your list tho. I mean Elephant is a major miscalculation but other than that really fkn solid list
