I can't remember anything about this.

I remember it being their softest album yet and that being part of why some don't like it.

Alchemy is softer than this tbh

The softness is not the problem here.

Considering these guys were once labeled the Radiohead of heavy music it does seem off that they made a lighter record like this but they've been softening up since Vheissu so eh

I don't care if it's a soft or heavy album I just want it to be good

True, this album just isn't gripping me like the others have.

It is good
Just not up to par with normal Thrice mastery.

Out of all the Thrice albums, this is the only one that didn’t really grab me. It’s a shame. But there are a few great tracks (Only Us, The Grey, Beyond the Pines).

Yeah, might drop my rating to a 3 if it wears off any more. It's already got no hope of moving to a 4 for me.

I dunno I still enjoyed this a lot more than their last effort.

I'm with Sowing. This is better than TBEITBN.

There are a couple parts of this that I think are better than TBEITBN, but far to many of the songs just don't go anywhere. I had some time to listen to it and I saw them live, and honestly the only songs on here worthy of Thrice's discog are Only Us, Blood on Blood, and Beyond the Pines. TBEITBN had some fairly weak tracks too but most of it was excellent. I can't say the same for Palms.
They're still my favorite band but this is comfortably in the lower half of albums I've heard this year.

They can't all be winners.

I mean...this certainly isn’t bad and has some great tracks (love Only Us, The Grey, Just Breathe and Beyond the Pines), but TBEITBN was much better than this imo.

I think the highs of this are higher than TBE but the lows are lower. So inconsistent.

^ I kind of feel that way too. This album just has so many low points though

Half of the album is strong, but the other songs feel lazier. The lyrics are often simplified and more mournful here IMO, killing some of that intense and angry vibe TBEITBN had.
