Songs can be fun and good at the same time and Hold Up A Light completely missed the mark on both.

I saw them a couple days ago, still hoping they drop The Dark even if everyone ends up singing along at the end. The Long Defeat does it miles better. Hell there's a dozen songs they could do it with if they wanted.
Only Us is such a weak live opener. Great song but it doesn't belong at the start of a set. I don't understand why they don't open every set with Firebreather or The Messenger.
Hold Up a Light is definitely better live. Not great but that's the way it tends to go with bland radio rock songs. They work better live than recorded. Still would prefer they play better songs.

The Long Defeat is absolutely the better live singalong and I fucking love hearing it live.

I don't feel like it should be so much lower than TBEITBN. Both albums are far from my favourite Thrice and both have dull moments but both also have great songs and at least they're experimenting a bit more on this than on TBEITBN.

I agree in the sense that TBEITBN should probably have a 3.5 instead of a 3.8. No way is the quality .1 less than Beggars and the Alchemy Indexes

Just bought tix to see these guys on Nov 18th — hyped! Just got into them a month ago and still have half of their discog to go through.

Yeah man, the timing for the concert was so damn perfect! Gotta get through the discog but don’t want to rush it — and with the new Chevelle coming out — I might not get through it all. But that’s cool, I don’t really mind.

Wondering if the setlist will differ at all from the first leg. Do they tend to switch it up?

Ahh I see they play Firebreather, Paper Tigers, The Earth Will Shake and Red Sky — some of my favorites so far.

The setlist will remain the same, for the most part. They might switch the order or swap a song in or out though. They played Firebreather at my date but swapped it for The Earth Will Shake at some others. Stuff like that

That's the way it was when I saw them on tour for the previous album, too.

The second to last time I saw them, maybe the time before, they busted out four Alchemy songs back to back and I came in my pants.
