Tried to listen to this sittin in traffic on the way to work this morning but it was too happy sounding. Gonna try to listen to it when I actually don’t want to kill myself I guess

I'm with you, TWSF, except Heart Attacks (and to an extent, Krystalline), is the standout to me. was never huge on this band though so I'll give 'em a few more tries

Alkaline trio...happy sounding?
Like do you even listen to the lyrics?
Fast pressed does not equal happy sounding

Got a few more spins in. Top three tracks are I Can’t Believe, Heart Attacks, and Throw Me To the Lions. All 5/5. Everything else grew on me a little as well so I’m just gonna keep spinning this haha. Settling with a 4 for the time being. I think the album is just a tad too lengthy, though

This is pretty straight forward and so sincere sounding, totally hits the right spot with me somehow...

I'm probably missing something, but I don't see this being any higher than a 3 to 3.5

that's totally fair without a bit of fanboy inflation
it is a really solid alkaline album though

Never heard of those guys before and I‘m pretty surprised by how much I enjoy this. Pretty curious how long my enthusiasm will last. It‘s usually not really my cup of tea but damn this is catchy af.

yea the only songs that actually sound darker are like, tracks 5, 10, 12, maybe parts of 1, 6 and 8. but alkaline usually is much darker in the lyrics than the actual compositions themselves which makes them such a perfect trojan horse band
but regardless of the tone of the songs, the songwriting here is so good

krystalline is a soty contender

So many jams on here. T/t, I Can't Believe, Heart Attacks, Throw Me To The Lions, Goodbye Fire Islands, all excellent tracks...

Never heard this band before, but yeah, this has no reason being as good as it is. Wonderfully easy listening with not a single bad song on here, and actually some depth when you start listening to the lyrics. It's pretty rare to have a pop/punk album on repeat for me, so props!
