Honestly, the hyperbolic opinions floating around about this album's production. It's really not THAT bad. It doesn't suit Interpol's sound as much as a polished production, but it still works well here. It's a conscious stylistic choice than a technical issue.

The band explicitly clarified in interviews that they intentionally brought in the producer they did because they wanted a specific sound. They ballparked it and tried something distinct. They won't likely again, but I agree it's not that bad. Album grew on me a bit more. Will probably land on a 3.5 for me.

So these guys have a concert in the netherlands on the 27th November, and I'd really love to go however I can buy the tickets after about 4,5 days as I can't right now and they are selling out. If they sell out before I can buy them, i'll cry
