Pharrell material on this alb = best pop music of 2010s aside from stray singles and Beyoncé s/t

Nah, I think Carly Rae could. But I do agree that this is quite underrated and that Pharrell's songs kick ass

Yeah I’m just being a dick CRJ is good too I just don’t see the ol’ (ugh I need to stop reading this stuff) RYM EMOTION bold album 3.77/5 #8 of 2015 whereas this is 3.2 and the 816th best album of 2018. It’s more uneven and uncool but it’s better too imho so imperative to me to jab hehehe

The step daughter even needs to grow up so I can stop hearing this Sam and Cat show where Ariana Grande is playing a special needs person who can’t talk properly, but apparently she’s playing a normal person.

@Storm: That's mostly the work of Dan "gimme a toe or you won't be on my show" Schneider

A couple of great tunes on here, but most of it is incredibly forgettable. Dangerous Woman was a tough one to follow up! She's got an incredible range though, that's a given.

This has grown on me a lot over the past few days! This is actually really, really good. Don't think I've ever bumped up a rating this high before. Definitely a grower.

do people agree that it feels like the pharrell songs stand apart from the non-pharrell ones if you look at the production credits? I like them better (I don't like "borderline," that's probably my least favorite song on the album, but I think the six other pharrell songs are the best six songs on the album) but I'm not even talking about that, I just mean in terms of the beat's style

Most underrated Ariana album right here. While I still prefer Thank U Next and Dangerous Woman to this one, there's something about the atmosphere and vibe of Sweetener that I just love. I've said this before, but a lot of the songs remind me of old Playstation soundtracks from the late 90s... seriously, the instrumental of Successful could totally have been on the Spyro soundtrack
