ok just bought the vinyl. tbh I listened to them only because I liked the cover

I also apparently know the singer's gf, she used to come to high school with me

this grew on me huge since first listen

I totally understand where the "all the songs in the middle sound the same" sentiment comes from, I thought so at first too, but on repeated listens their individual character comes out super hard

El Pastor is such a fucking jam

The more ethereal parts don't really move me, but I dig the livelier stuff like El Pastor and Single File. Sultans of Ping was nice too.

Band was excellent and incredibly tight live - convinced me to drop a 4 on this bad boy. Had to get this on vinyl too, the cover is so pretty.

I haven't seen them live yet because I live in the UK and don't really have the money to travel out which sucks because I watch most of the videos of them uploaded to Youtube. Did you catch Hikes and Gleemer beforehand because I love both of those bands and would kill to see them. I also picked it up, I got the Orange / Pink vinyl and it is gorgeous

I missed the openers unfortunately, sounds like I'll have to check them out. Isnt the band from the UK? I'd be surprised if they don't tour there sooner than later

And yeah sultans is something else, hell of an opener. I've never been so sure of what a band would open with lol.

You should check out the new version of Sultans of Ping. Featuring Tricot. A Japanese all female band.

It's even better than the original.

The combination you didn't think you needed, but sultans of ping is even cooler with jpn lyrics.

Gave this a check based off the Tricot collab (which is ACE and brings out the best of both groups) - really nice stuff, some fantastic highlights, some less engaging melodies that are more to do with my problems with math rock in general than anything these guys do especially wrong. Will probs jam again sometime soon

Still one of the best Emo/Math/Twinkle things out there. El Pastor is genuinely of the best songs of the whole emo revival.
