It does get tiresome to listen to the singer for so long. He really doesn’t do it for me

I probably wouldn't think as highly of this if not for the concept but the fact is that the concept is there and helps this tremendously

the beginning in floater ... melancholic start flowing into a triplets break continued by a mellow/dreamy section gets me every time. fucking great, i hope they get all the attention they for sure deserve

Ahhhhh I want to go to ArcTanGent so bad! If Thre Trapped Tigers plays next year I’ll make the trip. Not saying I won’t go anyway if they don’t, but I’ll certainly make the trip if they do

Been every year dude, should go even if TTT aren't playing it's honestly the greatest (though they've killed it every year they have been there)

So this has a neat cover as well as a good opener and closer. That combination of factors causes you to go into this with a certain expectation of how it probably has to sound (cover), thinking „wow this is going to be an atmospheric album as expected due to the cover“ (after hearing the opener) and „man what a journey that was“ (after hearing the closer, which uses the same melody as the opener). That‘s where the high ratings come from. But I‘ve listened to this don’t know how many times and no matter how much I want to like this: everything between first and last song sounds the fucking same, maybe apart from the interludes which are slightly different and obviously placed there to distract from the repitition. Nothing memorable there besides the two mentioned tracks. There are glimpses of potential here and there but nah, not feeling it.

I think it has some flaws and a couple of cuts I'd have done, but this was a surprise and it's highly memorable in its high notes so I'm ok with giving 0.5 thant I'd do usually. Still have to read the concept too
