I don't care about virtuosity or influence but I do care about innovation. And I value innovation and emotional effect equally. For example I have a disdain for most tech ad prog metal so I don't see where you are coming from. And for me the emotional value of a piece of art is often derived from its innovations. @Casavir My favourite metal albums fall under tech and prog so I dont hate all. I tend to prefer the earlier stuff like Watchtower, Voivod, Atheist etc
