Dream House is still their artistic peak (and one of my favorite songs of all time), but for my money this is definitely their best front-to-back album yet. Great review.

'I can't believe the dumb comments on here by untalented people who could never do any better! What a bunch of never had a girlfriend (or a band) idiots!'

LOLz

Because you have to be in a band to think an album sucks.

I can't tell if the comment was serious or not, but something tells me that relationship status does not correlate with musical ability (or that one needs to have musical ability to be able to give a critical appraisal of music)

"Ordinary Corrupt Human Love continues the thread of grand compositions built in movements"

some of the tracks bookend into the others well, but this ain't no Crimson. I feel this "one work of many movements" bit is over-stated.

I wish I was Dixie after hearing a recording of Dixie Chicks.

"Y'all being disingenuous on purpose or what? Really not too far out to suggest Deafheaven make longplayers and audiences would be better suited to consider the product as a whole versus chunks."

This could be applied to basically every album ever, but why not consider the songs individually? Most of us don't need to listen to an entire album to discuss one or more favourite tracks. If they wrote tightly knit concept records that flowed together as one, like say Since I Left You, then I could see the argument clearer, but would still find it elitist and arbitrary overall.

Atomic is a pretentious person [3]

But you know, whatever.

I still have yet to listen to this. I started to, but then went and listening to Sunbather instead. I'll get to it though.

Sorry... this BAND has peaks, and borings. Fuck off these 10 minute + songs and write something more direct for me to enjoy. Ffs.
